The Madhya Pradesh government has appointed IAS officer Sanjay Kumar Shukla, a 1994 batch officer, as the Principal Secretary of the Urban Development Department. Shukla previously held the position of Principal Secretary in the Women and Child Development Department.

In his career, Shukla served as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh for six months, from June to November 2024. He also played a key role as Principal Secretary in the Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Department.

An alumnus of IIT Roorkee, Shukla holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He further pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE) from the Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai, showcasing a strong academic background alongside his extensive administrative experience.
