New Delhi: In recent years, an increasing number of students across India have set their sights on pursuing higher education abroad, seeking diverse academic experiences and global perspectives. This surge in interest has paved the way for innovative platforms leveraging cutting-edge technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), to enhance the study abroad journey for these ambitious individuals. These platforms strive to streamline the complex process of studying abroad, offering tailored solutions that cater to the unique preferences and aspirations of Indian students.

As the demand for international education grows, the integration of AI has proven instrumental in providing personalized guidance, comprehensive information, and efficient support, ultimately revolutionizing the study abroad landscape for the aspiring scholars of India. In this regard Rikita Paul, ObserveNow interacted with Karunn Kandoi, Chief Experience Officer at ApplyBoard.

Here are a few excerpts from the interview:

How does ApplyBoard help students across India who wish to study abroad?

ApplyBoard simplifies the study abroad search, application, and acceptance process by connecting international students, recruitment partners, and academic institutions on one platform.

Using the ApplyBoard Platform, students discover programs and apply to study at the educational institutions that best meet their background and interests. Our team of experts provide students with support every step of the way, including reviewing their applications, ensuring all documents are submitted, communicating with the institutions, and guiding them as they start their journey abroad! The platform is free and easy to use.

Through ApplyBoard, students have access to over 140,000 programs at 1,500 institutions across Canada, US, UK, Australia and Ireland. Since founding in 2015, ApplyBoard has helped more than 800,000 students from 150+ countries around the world achieve their study abroad dreams.

How does your platform use new technologies like AI to improve the study abroad experience for students?

ApplyBoard uses a proprietary, AI-powered platform to align the interests of students and our partner schools by matching each student with their most suitable program. Two tools that use AI and machine learning include our Student Search and Program Matcher Tool.

ApplyBoard’s search engine is powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and provides course and program options that best fit your specific needs. All you have to do is check off your preferences, and you’ll get program results that match your criteria. It takes factors like study locations, tuition fees, program levels, and more into account in a straightforward way.

ApplyBoard’s Program Matcher tool helps take the research and guesswork out of finding your perfect study abroad program. ApplyBoard uses artificial intelligence to match a student’s interests with suitable open study abroad programs. After answering a few questions about your academic history and goals, the program matcher offers four highly personalized recommendations for study programs to match your budget, preferences, qualifications, and more.

Where are Indian students interested in studying abroad, and what subjects are they pursuing?

Indian students are increasingly interested in studying abroad, specifically in major destinations including Canada, the US, UK and Australia. Indian students are the top student population in Canada and Ireland, and the #2 student population in the US and UK. India is projected to remain the world’s leading student-age population (18-24) through 2030.

How does ApplyBoard work to make the international education experience and industry better?

ApplyBoard is dedicated to helping the international education sector evolve, one innovation at a time. As a market leader, ApplyBoard is focused on trust and transparency, and helps strengthen the international student experience by giving students the access they want, the information they can trust and a process that is as transparent as possible for them at every step of their study abroad journey.

Can you elaborate on the role of recruitment partners in the ApplyBoard platform and how they contribute to the study abroad process?

To help decide which course or program is right for them, many prospective international students choose to work with a recruitment advisor (also known as agents, counsellors or recruitment partners). These education professionals can help students by finding programs that suit their skills and interests, working with them on a timeline for academic and visa applications and organizing the documents they’ll need for your applications. Through ApplyBoard, students can choose to work with a recruitment partner, or apply to schools themselves directly through the ApplyBoard Platform.
