DoPT Implements Strict Attendance Rules; Employees Required to Clock in by 9:15
The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has implemented new regulations requiring all employees, including senior officers, to be present in their offices by 9 AM and to record their attendance no later than 9:15 AM. According to a circular issued by Manoj Dewedi, AS, DoPT, the directive emphasizes the adoption of a biometric attendance system for all staff.
Employees are allowed a 15-minute grace period to register their attendance. Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in the deduction of half-day casual leave. The circular also mandates that any planned absences must be communicated in advance, with appropriate leave requests submitted.
Additionally, senior officers have been assigned the responsibility of overseeing the attendance and punctuality of their teams to ensure compliance with the new regulations.
