NIXI and MeitY to Unveil BhashaNet Portal for Digital Inclusion at UA Day Event

New Delhi: NIXI and MeitY are set to unveil the BhashaNet portal during tomorrow’s Universal Acceptance (UA) Day event, aimed at fostering digital inclusion nationwide. This collaborative effort between NIXI and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) marks their joint commitment to advancing UA and promoting digital accessibility across India. Notably, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and the Internet Governance division of MeitY are actively backing UA Day.

The event’s theme, “BhashaNet: Impetus Towards Universal Acceptance,” underscores NIXI’s dedication to enabling individuals from diverse linguistic backgrounds to fully engage in the digital realm. Through UA Day, NIXI and MeitY seek to mobilize stakeholders and raise awareness about the importance of UA readiness in today’s digital landscape. The agenda includes keynote speeches, panel discussions, and technical workshops led by esteemed speakers from various sectors, all focusing on the significance of UA and strategies for achieving widespread acceptance.

S Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY, will grace the event as Chief Guest, highlighting the government’s commitment to digital inclusivity. Additionally, Shri Shushil Pal, Joint Secretary of MeitY, will attend, emphasizing the government’s steadfast support for initiatives promoting digital inclusivity and UA.

Dr. Devesh Tyagi, CEO of NIXI, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, emphasizing that universal acceptance is crucial for achieving digital inclusivity. Through UA Day, they reaffirm their dedication to bridging linguistic barriers and ensuring every voice is heard in the digital arena.
