Appointments Committee of Cabinet Appoints 10 IAS Officers at Secretary Level
New Delhi: In a significant development, the ACC (Appointments Committee of the Cabinet) has given the nod to the appointment of 10 distinguished IAS Officers at the Secretary Level. Apurva Chandra IAS (Maharashtra 1988), formerly Secretary of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, assumes the role of Secretary at the Department of Health and Family Welfare. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu IAS (Uttarakhand 1988) (Retd.) takes on the position of Secretary at Lokpal on a contract basis for a one-year term, under the usual terms and conditions for re-employed Central Government officers.
Raj Kumar Goyal IAS (AGMUT 1990) has been appointed as Secretary at the Department of Border Management, MHA, leveraging his extensive experience in the cadre. Niten Chandra IAS (Odisha 1990), the former Secretary of the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law & Justice, now assumes the role of Secretary at the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence.
Further, K Moses Chalai IAS (Manipur 1990), previously serving as Secretary at the North Eastern Council Secretariat, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, has been reassigned to the Secretary position at the Inter State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs. These appointments reflect the government’s strategic placement of experienced officers in key roles, highlighting their diverse expertise and contributions to various ministries.
