MapmyIndia Mappls Partners with Survey of India and Indian Oil to Strengthen India’s Digital Mapping Infrastructure
In a major boost to India’s digital infrastructure, MapmyIndia Mappls has entered into strategic agreements with the Survey of India and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) to provide advanced geospatial and IoT-based fleet tracking solutions. The collaborations mark a significant step in expanding India’s indigenous mapping ecosystem and enhancing the government’s reliance on homegrown technologies for national-scale projects.
Under the partnership, MapmyIndia’s Mappls platform will digitally power the Survey of India, helping modernise national mapping operations through precise digital cartography and real-time geospatial intelligence. For Indian Oil, the company will deploy IoT-driven fleet management systems, enabling live vehicle tracking, route optimisation, and efficiency monitoring across its vast logistics and fuel distribution network.
Industry experts view these collaborations as a testament to India’s growing confidence in domestic tech innovation, aligning with the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat and Digital India missions. By integrating its AI-enabled, cloud-based geospatial technologies into government operations, MapmyIndia is positioning itself as a critical enabler in the nation’s digital and logistics backbone.
Rohan Verma, CEO of MapmyIndia, has previously underscored the company’s commitment to building “a self-reliant, smart, and safe India powered by digital maps and IoT.” The new deals with the Survey of India and Indian Oil strengthen that vision, establishing a foundation for data sovereignty, digital governance, and real-time operational intelligence across public infrastructure sectors.
The partnerships are expected to not only improve service delivery and transparency but also reinforce India’s leadership in developing indigenous digital mapping and mobility solutions that serve both government and enterprise needs.
