Indo-Uzbek Summit 2025 Strengthens Ties in Education, Business, and Culture

The Indo-Uzbek Education & Business Summit 2025, hosted at Hotel Pride Plaza in Aerocity, New Delhi, marked a pivotal moment in enhancing bilateral cooperation between India and Uzbekistan. The high-profile event, organized by MD House in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in India, convened over 100 influential participants including university heads, business leaders, investors, and senior government officials from both nations.
Uzbekistan’s medical universities have emerged as key academic centers offering comprehensive 6-year MD programs that include one year of internship. These institutions conduct their programs entirely in English and provide clinical training in government hospitals. Upon completion, students are granted medical licensure, making them eligible to practice globally.
The summit was graced by representatives from several esteemed Uzbek universities including Samarkand State Medical University, Bukhara State Medical Institute, Namangan Medical Institute, Turon University, Andijan State Medical Institute, and the Journalism and Mass Communications University of Uzbekistan. These delegates showcased their academic offerings and reiterated their commitment to welcoming Indian students seeking high-quality and internationally aligned education.
A significant highlight of the event was the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between Indian and Uzbek universities. These agreements lay the groundwork for future academic collaborations such as joint research initiatives, student exchange programs, and faculty training sessions.
Beyond education, the summit spotlighted the investment potential of Uzbekistan for Indian entrepreneurs. With its supportive policies and emerging market opportunities, Uzbekistan is attracting investment in sectors like pharmaceuticals, agriculture, food processing, infrastructure, logistics, education, and IT. Ambassador Rustambaev extended a warm invitation to Indian investors, affirming Uzbekistan’s readiness to facilitate and support direct collaborations.
Cultural exchange and tourism were also celebrated as integral pillars of the Indo-Uzbek partnership. Uzbekistan’s rich Silk Road heritage and iconic cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva continue to captivate Indian tourists. These destinations, known for their ancient monuments, vibrant bazaars, and historical significance, mirror the deep-rooted cultural connections between the two countries.
The Indo-Uzbek Education & Business Summit served as a vibrant platform for strategic dialogue and collaboration. Attendees engaged in university and business presentations, cultural exchanges, and discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
This summit reaffirmed the shared vision of India and Uzbekistan to deepen cooperation in education, economic development, and cultural understanding. With education as a cornerstone, Uzbekistan has positioned itself as a hub for Indian students—offering them not only academic excellence but also practical, globally relevant medical training to become skilled and compassionate healthcare professionals.
