Cloudera Appoints Sergio Gago as New Chief Technology Officer

Prior to joining Cloudera, Gago served as Managing Director of AI and Quantum Computing at Moody’s Analytics, where he led initiatives to integrate advanced technologies into financial services. His tenure at Moody’s followed the acquisition of Acquire Media, a company he led, by Moody’s Analytics in 2020. Gago’s career also includes founding five companies before the age of 25, three of which continue to operate today.

In his new role at Cloudera, Gago is expected to spearhead the company’s technological strategy, focusing on enhancing its data platform capabilities and expanding its AI and machine learning offerings. His expertise aligns with Cloudera’s mission to provide scalable and secure data solutions for enterprise clients.

Gago is also known for his thought leadership in the tech community. He has shared insights on the evolving role of CTOs, emphasizing the importance of balancing technical proficiency with business acumen. In a recent interview, he highlighted the need for CTOs to embrace opportunities and continuously develop soft skills to thrive in their roles.
