Freshworks appoints Murali Swaminathan as Chief Technology Officer
Murali Swaminathan has been named the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Freshworks. In this role, he will be responsible for shaping the company’s technology roadmap and strategy, while leading its global engineering and architecture teams.
Swaminathan brings over 30 years of experience in software engineering and management. He joins Freshworks from ServiceNow, where he was the Vice President of Engineering. At ServiceNow, he managed the company’s market-leading IT Service Management and Strategic Portfolio Management product lines, which are designed to scale for large enterprises.

During his time at ServiceNow, Swaminathan played a key role in developing the modern application architecture that supports its IT Service Management and Strategic Portfolio Management offerings.
Before joining ServiceNow, he was the Vice President of Engineering at Recommind (now OpenText). Prior to that, he held several key roles at CA Technologies (now part of Broadcom Inc.), where he significantly contributed to the advancement of the company’s enterprise software solutions.
