In a major administrative shuffle Mugdha Sinha, IAS (RJ:99), has been appointed as the Director General of Tourism at the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Previously, she served as Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Culture. Mugdha, known for her dynamic leadership and commitment to enhancing India’s rich cultural heritage, brings extensive experience and a forward-thinking perspective to her new role. Her previous tenure at the Ministry of Culture was marked by several successful initiatives aimed at preserving and promoting India’s diverse cultural assets.

Meanwhile, Manisha Saxena, IAS (AGMUT:96), has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. Saxena’s previous role as DG Tourism involved overseeing key tourism projects and initiatives, making significant contributions to India’s tourism sector.

Under Sinha’s strategic vision and leadership, the tourism sector is expected to see substantial growth and innovation, further enhancing India’s vast tourism potential.
