Bandhan Bank Unveils ‘Avni’: A Dedicated Savings Account for Women
Bandhan Bank announced the launch of ‘Avni,’ a new savings account exclusively designed for women. The ‘Avni’ account comes with a host of benefits, including a debit card that provides complimentary airport lounge access, a personal accident insurance cover of Rs 10 lakh, and a lost card liability cover of Rs 3.5 lakh. Additionally, account holders can enjoy a 25% discount on locker rentals and a 50% discount on gold loan processing fees, with a requirement to maintain an average quarterly balance of Rs 25,000.
Ratan Kumar Kesh, Interim Managing Director and CEO of Bandhan Bank, emphasized the bank’s commitment to women’s empowerment, stating, “The success of Bandhan Bank is deeply rooted in our women customers. Bandhan was established with the goal of empowering women. Through our Emerging Entrepreneurs Business (EEB) vertical, we have supported 2 crore women entrepreneurs, helping them secure livelihoods and enhance their families’ lifestyles. With ‘Avni,’ we aim to further advance our mission of empowering women.”
The launch follows a call from Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das for banks to introduce innovative products and services and utilize their branch networks to boost household financial savings as deposits. Bandhan Bank is also exploring the introduction of more tailored products for specific customer segments, including senior citizens, NRIs, and students.
In addition, the bank has introduced an enterprise-wide loyalty program, ‘Bandhan Bank Delights,’ allowing customers to earn and redeem Delight Points for purchases.
