Amit Shah Launches Pradhan Mantri Colleges of Excellence in Madhya Pradesh

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, inaugurated the Pradhan Mantri Colleges of Excellence in Madhya Pradesh, marking a significant step towards enhancing educational infrastructure across the state. These institutions, constructed at a cost of Rs 486 crore, are set to benefit all 55 districts of Madhya Pradesh.
During the inauguration, Shah underscored the pivotal role of robust educational foundations in India’s envisioned development by 2047. He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s vision in introducing the New Education Policy (NEP) in 2020, aimed at meeting the educational requirements for the next 25 years. Emphasizing the NEP’s goal of holistic development, Shah highlighted its focus on integrating academic learning with life skills, encouraging innovative thinking.
The NEP encompasses practical, skill development, and vocational training to equip students for the challenges posed by the digital age, including internet, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. The Pradhan Mantri Colleges of Excellence offer diverse disciplinary studies, enabling students to pursue interests in fields such as biotechnology, computer science, culture, and arts. Additionally, courses like B.Ed and B.Sc Agriculture have been introduced, fostering links between education and entrepreneurial opportunities.
