Regional Conference on e-Governance to Commence in Guwahati
New Delhi: Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Assam, is set to inaugurate the two-day Regional Conference on “e-Governance” in Guwahati tomorrow. The event, organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) in collaboration with the Government of Assam, will witness the participation of Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, among other dignitaries.
Taking place on January 9-10, 2024, this marks the 26th Regional Conference convened by DARPG from 2014-2024, involving eight North Eastern states and four Eastern region states. The conference will focus on e-Governance, showcasing award-winning initiatives under the National e-Governance Awards Scheme, 2023.
Key figures such as Paban Kumar Borthakur, Chief Secretary, Government of Assam, and V. Srinivas, Secretary, DARPG, will address the inaugural session. The event will also witness the release of a booklet on the journey of 25 Regional Conferences and an e-journal on e-Governance Initiatives.
The conference will feature seven sessions covering various topics, with Puneet Yadav, Joint Secretary, DARPG, GOI, chairing the first session on the “Unified Service Delivery Portal.” Notable discussions include e-Governance Awarded Initiatives 2022 and Best Practices of the Government of Assam.
On Day 2, the focus will shift to district-level initiatives in e-Governance, chaired by Shri NBS Rajput, Joint Secretary, DARPG, GOI. Award-winning initiatives and best practices will be highlighted, contributing to the overarching goal of bringing national and state-level public administration organizations together to share innovative experiences.
The conference aims to enhance public solutions, improve the quality of life, and foster good governance in the realms of e-governance and Digital Governance.
