Centre Announces 18 Additional Secretary Appointments, Reshaping Key Bureaucratic Roles

New Delhi: In a significant administrative overhaul, the Centre has appointed 18 bureaucrats to the Additional Secretary level, with immediate effect. Among the notable appointments, Sanjeev Kumar Jindal from the CSS (1989) cadre takes on the role of Additional Secretary in the Department of Home, Ministry of Home Affairs. Asit Gopal, an IFoS officer from MP (1990), transitions from Commissioner of Eklavya Model Residential School to Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Textiles.

Tripti Gurha (IRTS, 1993) moves up from Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Women and Child Development to Additional Secretary in the same ministry. Meanwhile, Samir Kumar Sinha (IAS, AM 1994) assumes the position of Additional Secretary & DG (Acquisition) in the Department of Defence.

The reshuffling continues with appointments like Bharat Harbanslal Khera (IAS, HP 1995) as Additional Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs, Chandra Bhushan Kumar (IAS, AGMUT 1995) as Additional Secretary & Mission Director in the Jal Jeevan Mission, and Puja Singh Mandol (IA&AS, 1995) as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation.

Other key appointments include Sanjukta Mudgal (IFoS, MP 1990) as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Anant Swarup (IRPS, 1992) as Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce, and Navaljit Kapoor (IRS, IT 1992) as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

Rahul Navin (IRS, IT 1993) takes on the role of Special Director in the Directorate of Enforcement in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. The list continues with Anurag Bajpai (IFoS, MN 1994) as Additional Secretary in the Department of Defence Production, Alok Pande (IPoS, 1994) in the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management, and Sunil Kumar (IFoS, PB 1995) in the Department of Science & Technology.
