UGC's grievance cell for students

As the country is in its third phase of lockdown, the Education system in the country has switched to E-learning, all the study material is being provided online through social media sites such as WhatsApp, YouTube, etc. at school and college level. 

The University Grant Commission (UGC) issued a circular to all the universities across the country directing them to set up a grievance redressal cell for handling students' queries regarding examinations and other academic activities. 
The universities are required to resolve the queries within the time frame of 15 days from the date of the query raised. For this purpose, UGC has provided helpline numbers and e-mail addresses at it’s portal to help the students to resolve their queries arisen due to the corona outbreak. 

Meanwhile, universities begin to set up their respective redressal cells at college and Institute level, Students can also file their grievances on the existing grievance redressal portal of the UGC. 

“In accordance with the earlier guidelines, all universities have been advised to plan their academic activities keeping in view safety and interest at stakeholders, giving highest priority to the health of all concerned while adopting and implementing the new guidelines, “ Says UGC Secretary Rajnish Jain. 

UGC’s latest guidelines regarding admission and academic calendar declare that new admission for the academic session 2020-21 may begin from September and for the existing students, the session is likely to commence from August 2020.
