Startup to be a subject in UP Universities and Colleges

The Uttar Pradesh government announced that ‘Startup’ will be introduced as a subject in universities and colleges to have more young entrepreneurs in the state.

The government wants the youth to be job providers and not only job seekers, an official statement by the UP government said. The government is encouraging youth to build their own enterprises.

As a part of the new initiative, students would be allowed to get one year study leave in the final year of their graduation and post-graduation courses. Students can join internships during this period and would be given an allowance of Rs 2,500 by the government during their internship period.
